Summary:
The Clerical Assistant is responsible for a variety of activities in the office, including filing, answering the phone, organizing documents and basic bookkeeping.
They have the ability to work diligently and independently to help maintain efficient office operations.
Reliability and a strong work ethic with great communication skills are a must.
Previous experience working in an office setting with office equipment required.
Responsibilities:
Answers the door and greeting donors in the absence of volunteers.
Maintains positive work atmosphere, courteous demeanor, and professional and appropriate communication practices.
Provides quality customer service, both internal and external.
Maintains confidentiality of all SVDP records, correspondence and client information.
Keeps daily record of Petty Cash transactions per E.
D.
Keeps daily record of Money Order transactions per E.
D.
Matches receipts for Bank Charge statements.
Processes necessary forms for payment of charity as directed by the E.
D.
Records all donations in logbook.
Requires basic typing and computer skills.
Makes copies and scans documents as needed.
Supports the E.
D.
and V.
P.
with various administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required relevant degree or certification is preferred.
Successful work experience as a clerical assistant or in another clerical position.
Strong working knowledge of office equipment, procedures, and basic accounting principles.
Ability to effectively use office equipment.
Excellent typing skills.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Outstanding communication skills.
Great organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrates initiative and actively seeks out ways to improve practice.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Possesses the ability to be a team player but also is able to work on his/her own and be a self-starter.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
